This year, the European Association of Surfing Doctors (EASD) will organize their 3rd annual congress in Sligo. There will be a three-day conference for medical professionals, and a one-day symposium for surfers. The EASD is a non-profit volunteer-based organization, that has as a main goal to unite and educate surfers, medical doctors and specialists in medical or sports related professions. Hereby, we aim to improve health care and knowledge about medical risks in surfers. 

 This year, our conference will take place in Sligo, Ireland, and will be themed with “Big Wave” Surfing Medicine. Several renowned experts in their respective fields will be present; including Irish Big Wave Surfer, Billabong XXL 2013 Finalist, Lifeguard, and Paramedic, Peter Conroy; Wilderness-Expedition Medicine trailblazer, Brazilian Dr. Karina Oliani and Hawaiian Pipeline Masters Doctor and co-author of the book “Surf Survival”, Dr. Clayton Everline.
