This November The Model is delighted to once again host the now annual ‘Divas for DVAS’, a night celebrating women with all proceeds going towards the Safe House Project by DVAS. DVAS (Domestic Violence Advocacy Service) is a local service, protecting women affected by domestic violence throughout Sligo, Leitrim and West Cavan.
‘Divas for DVAS’ yet again features a stellar line up of music and spoken word. Our ‘divas’ this year includeMabel Chah, Pauline Dupont, Lisa Canon of ‘Mass Band’ fame; young award winning singer songwriter from Ballyshannon, Chanele McGuinness; Aminah Hughes– who will release her debut album entitled Blue Wooden Boat this December; poet Mary Branley accompanied by fiddle player Monnine Fitzpatrick; emerging novelistKate Winter who with charm and panache MC’d Divas for DVAS 2014; Inni-K – a rising star on the Indie music scene and actor, writer, singer, poet Sorcha Fox who will perform with renowned fiddle player of Kíla, Dee Armstrong.
