The An Post Tour of Sligo is a leisure cycle with a choice of 60k/ 100k/ 160k distances. Participants will get the chance to enjoy stunning Sligo scenery ranging from majestic mountains to spectacular sea views and picturesque countryside from the saddle of a bike.
Saturday is the Family Fun Day with entertainment from 2pm to 4pm; a 10km Hazelwood Spin for All; and a 2km bike trail. Sunday sees participants take part in one of three cycling routes. The 60km Lough Gill Circuit is a relatively flat route that is suitable for those who have a good level of fitness and will be enjoyed by leisure cyclists as well as more experienced touring cyclists. The 100km Innisfree Tour is designed for the touring cyclist who has possibly decided to step up their training regime from having participated in the Lough Gill Circuit in previous years. It is a very scenic route, but includes quite hilly terrain and your training programme should reflect this. The Ox Mountain Challenge is a tough and challenging cycle and not for the fainthearted. At 160km (100 miles) in distance, it includes a number of challenging climbs and is suitable only for very experienced and very fit cyclists.
Have a go and get on your bike for the An Post Tour of Sligo 2015 and make cycling a way of life!
